Sadly, our interview with Corey Feldman at tonights performance in San Antonio is postponed as is the performance many of his fans were looking forward to.
As is part of entertainment and promoting we had several individuals asking us for information on the concert, ticket prices ect. Truthfully we had no answers and could not find anything for my readers/followers online so we went directly to the source.
Anthem School of Music located in San Antonio was putting on the concert as a part of what appeared to be an annual music festival from what we could tell. However, when we reached out to them on the 5th of October we were told by a member of staff that the city had denied their initial permit and they were currently meeting with the city in a second attempt to get a permit approved.
With that being said, the member of staff informed me that they were not sure the event would take place at all, but that they should have an answer by the following day. We did attempt to call them again on the 6th as we had a confirmed interview and photo badge for the show but did not get a call back from the school.
With that I reached out to Feldman's management whom I had confirmed our credentials with weeks prior as the tour date was now removed from the performers website. She informed me that she had just been made aware of the events cancellation but did not have any further info for us at the time.
We hate the circumstances as this would have been a great addition to our coverage of the area and an interesting concert review filled with great photo ops. The interview was something several readers were excited for, but alas it was not meant to be.
Truthfully we feel bad for Corey Feldman. Despite the controversy that surrounds the performer, we can speak as musicians and say that a last minute cancellation on a tour really sucks.
We can not judge the Anthem School of Music because we don't know the full circumstances or have any details on why the permit was not granted by the city of San Antonio, but we certainly hope that this was communicated to their performers sooner than it was to the public.
Till next time,
-12th Fret.
