Nichols has honed his chops in rock and blues and brings a fun and fast energy to his audience. Playing through originals the rocker makes it clear that he is steeped in rock/blues unleashing licks both original and classic riffs to toy with the crowd.
Though the set is jammed packed with Nichols coined "Blues Power" fans are teased with riffs from the likes of Black Sabbath, The Beatles, ZZ Top, and the Allman Brothers.
This makes complete sense as we sat down to speak with Nichols, who has been non stop touring since our last meeting at NAMM in Anaheim only days before. He tells us that when not playing his own songs he loves to jam out to old school rock, blues and even country.
A true musician he tells us that he "loves it all" in terms of jamming.
Gracing the stage of the Paper Tiger, the raw power of Nichols and his band stole the show from the main stage as they powered through song after song each filled with the soul of Rock. The audience loved the show from start to finish and rocked out to match the performance they were seeing before them.
Known as a gear head Nichols showcased what his latest edition can do, sporting a vintage 57 Les Paul with something special in the pickups.
