Johnnie Guilbert: The Stay Cozy Tour

Original Publication Date: October 17, 2022

San Antonio - About a year ago 12thFretMedia kicked off its journey into being an independent publication for music journalism and at the start was Johnnie Guilbert who has been a kind friend to our little website. Well now almost a year later we find ourselves back in San Antonio to catch up with the singer songwriter and YouTube star.

Many of you may have first seen Guilbert on YouTube via his own channel, in MyDigitalEscape, or OurWorldAway, but since those ventures the young musician is working independently on his original songs. With that it was time to embark on another tour, in this case the "Stay Cozy" tour with Say We Can Fly, and Gold Steps.

A few hundred people filled the venue to see the respective bands and it seemed that many were there to see Guilbert perform songs from his past as well as his recent releases. Well true to his roots Guilbert delivered not only past releases, but current releases, and cover songs all which were met with mass approval.

A highlight from his performance was his performance of "Anxiety" which is a favorite of

this publication. The live performance really takes the song to a new level as Guilbert has a natural vibrato to his voice that really adds to the performance.

In addition to his vocal stylings and catchy songs, fan engagement is something that seems to come naturally to Guilbert. Several times throughout the night fans could be heard singing along to his songs by the first chorus.

Guilbert has a natural comfort on the stage and this seems to really resonate with his fanbase as they seem as comfortable as the artist himself. It comes as no surprise that Guilbert is a class act when it comes to his fanbase and many found it easy to meet the musician at the show as he welcomed them all.

In regards to the tour Guilbert told us "It's been the best tour I've ever done." Having

upgraded his gear and wireless set up the singer described it thus far as "good vibes."

Having found a new positive headspace the singer seems to have an optimistic outlook on touring, performing and creating his art. It was reassuring to see the enthusiasm of the

artist hours before a performance.

One thing Guilbert made note of was his desire to branch out and really try new things like an album of cover songs which we must admit sounds like it would be a blast to listen to. During this interview Guilbert had 2 new songs debuting, as well as a music video with friends and fellow musicians Jake Webber and YoungScuff.

In addition to those releases the singer is also working on new material and music videos.

It appears that with the new found enthusiasm, the musician is creating with a passion and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
